Coffee Date

If we had a coffee date I'd tell you that.......

Since my return from my holiday I've been rather absent from the blogging world. I found this link up to Alissa's Coffee Date at Rags To Stitches via Alesha at Blessed to Be a Blessing. Alesha was the lovely lady whom I was a blog angel for, but even though the project has finished I'm still following and supporting her.

Anyway, I thought this would be a good way to get back into things and give you a general update on what's been happening.

Well as you know I spent 2 glorious weeks in Cuba. I left my blog in very capable hands with some lovely guest posters whilst I was away and I hoped you enjoyed reading them. Obviously I was unable to access the internet whilst I was away, and when I got home I had so much unpacking, washing etc to do. I also had to take my poorly pooch to the vet. He had a pea sized lump on his head which has had to be removed (along with his manly bits) and I was feeling rather guilty for  leaving him for so long then doing that to him - so I've spent a lot of time at home looking after him.

I was also very much dreading going back to work. I really struggle to get on with my boss and I felt sick at the thought of going home. Since returning to work she's been ok with me, as I think she's realised how busy I am by how much she's had to cover in my absence, but I know this won't last for long. My department is also undergoing a restructure and a new team is being created which I really want to get into but there's a lot of stiff competition so that's another anxiety.

I've also been thinking alot about what I want from life and how I want it to be. We saw a lot of weddings in our hotel, and went to one recently, which has made us think a lot about our own wedding plans. It does become difficult to keep batting off all the "have you set a date yet" and "so when you having children"  type questions. These are both things that we want as a couple and although there's a part of me that still wants to go out in skyscraper heels and dance on tables, there's another side that wants to snuggle up with a takeaway and the dog getting fat. It's obviously about finding the right balance.

I've sort of lost my blogging mojo recently. To some extent I think my other half is pleased about this. Although he says he's glad I've found a hobby I enjoy - aside from reading - he does complain it takes up rather a lot of my time. I've also struggled with my work load alongside my blog too, both before my holiday and since. I have a few posts planned, but whereas before I felt I was good at posting very regularly, they make be a little less frequent, at least for the next month.Hopefully you will all stick with me, and I will get back into the swing of things. I've been in touch with one or two bloggy friends, and I'm best reached via twitter - in fact I'd love you all to tweet me to let me know what sort of things you want to see on my blog and general words of encouragement! I've also commissioned some design work for my bog which I cannot wait to share with you all once it's been perfected!

Just as an extra note - I reached my target weight before I went on holiday, however I did gain a little whilst I was away - a while 3 1/2lbs!!!! Not bad for two weeks all inclusive eh?

If we had a coffee date what would you tell me?

  1. I can completely empathise. It's sometimes really difficult to find time to blog as well as work and have some kind of life. Also horrible bosses suck... I think if we went for a cuppa I'd be pretty much saying the same things. I'm also trying to avoid planning my wedding, it's a nightmare trying to keep everyone happy as well as being happy yourself x

    1. I don't intend to make blogging sound a chore as I enjoy doing it! It's just that my job has to come first but my manager seems to have no life and is a bit of a workaholic and seems to expect me ot be the same!
OMG isn't it just! You can't invite them if you invite them; if you go abroad they can't come; rahdee rahdee rah!

  2. I can totally sympathise! We've only been engaged 6 months yet get asked all the freaking time when we're getting married. Errr when we win the lottery?

I also lost my blogging mojo for a bit...after a couple of weeks off my motivation is certainly back so yours will be back too.

    1. I know tell me about it! Even with my plans for a handmade wedding it's still making my bank manager have palipatations!

Just replying to comments and looking at design work is getting me back into things already :) I think I exhausted myself getting so much ready to cover my blog whilst I was off, but if I hadn't it would have been empty for 4 weeks rather than just the 1 by now!

    2. Overdoing it will make it seem like a chore rather than something you enjoy, which is not good! X

  3. I love your post! So inspiring. Please follow at

  4. This is a really nice post!! I don't think you are on your own feeling like this, I have been snowed under with stuff this last month and blogging has been the last thing on my mind! xx

  5. But you get to daydream about the kind of wedding you want!!! I know it is hard trying to keep all the plates spinning sometimes and when you have lots of lovely readers you can feel a pressure to have to post something! I for one am quite happy to hear of wedding dreams every day of the week - keep it simple - think of one thing every other day you would do - short and sweet and less pressure on you!
And if you are fed up of weddings just say what you ate today! Always inspiring to hear from a Target weight member!

  6. Hi!

I just found your blog and it's so cute. i love it! It is bow-tiful! lol.

    Sheree x
